  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced (optional)
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 2 cups elbow macaroni, uncooked
  • 2 cups water or beef broth

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add diced onions, minced garlic, and bell pepper to the skillet; sauté for about 3–4 minutes until softened.
  3. Stir in tomato sauce, diced tomatoes (with juice), tomato paste, paprika, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer.
  4. Add uncooked macaroni and water or broth; stir well. Cover and let simmer for 15–20 minutes until macaroni is tender.
  5. If desired, top with shredded cheddar cheese during the last few minutes of cooking until melted.
